Charlestown, Ind – May 14th, 2020 – Mayor Treva Hodges announced today that she will represent Charlestown as her own appointment to the River Ridge Development Authority Board of Directors. Hodges replaces Pat Glotzbach in the role, who will step away as Charlestown’s appointment to the board. Glotzbach, appointed by former mayor Hall, continued to serve as Mayor Hodges’ appointment until recently moving to Utica.
“It has been a pleasure to represent the City of Charlestown serving on the River Ridge Commerce Center Board of Directors for the past 3+ years. River Ridge has been such an economic boost to Southern Indiana, adding over 10,500 jobs for 61 businesses, Glotzbach said.
“I was very appreciative that Mayor Treva Hodges allowed me to continue to represent Charlestown after her election to Mayor. Mayor Hodges will represent us well as a board member. This will allow her to play an active role in the decisions being made at River Ridge, that will affect Charlestown’s future. Both Charlestown and River Ridges have a bright future, together.”
Mayor Hodges says that she is appreciative of Glotzbach’s service and eager to step into the position.
“Having Pat serve on the River Ridge Board has been a true blessing for Charlestown. Pat’s long-term commitment to our community has played a large role in managing growth in the area and he will be sorely missed. I look forward to continuing on with the same commitment to service as I join the board this month,” Hodges stated. “Exciting changes are coming to Charlestown and I’m eager to advocate for our great city.”
River Ridge officials shared earlier this month that the Charlestown end of the property is becoming more of a focus for the River Ridge team. Much of the former ammunition plant sits in Charlestown, with the city comprising roughly a third of the commerce center’s land. That land is being cleared for development and a 50-acre sale is currently in the pipeline, with more expected to come.
Hodges will join the board at their next meeting on Monday.
